Absenteeism describes a regular pattern of absence from work, school, or obligation without a valid reason or without communicating that reason.
Staff not showing up for work can have a big impact on businesses, affecting revenue, customer service levels, and even morale in teams.
Tackling staff absence isn’t easy, but by keeping it any instances of absence well documented (for example, accurate clocking in records and up-to-date employee timesheets) managers will have a better idea of when it’s time to act, as well as have irrefutable data to point to when the time comes to sit down with their employee for a discussion.
