J&H Local is a multi-award-winning convenience retailer with locations in Bradford and Sunderland, serving over a million customers a year.

Having grown organically since the company formed in 1984, J&H Local now employs over 40 staff members, with plans to expand operations further in the future.

The challenge

One of J&H Local’s business goals is to promote a happy and engaging working environment for employees, but scheduling mistakes started to cause problems.

Owner of J&H Local Jasdeep Singh explained their rota planning problems.

“We used spreadsheets, and it usually took a full day to draft a whole month’s worth of rotas,” he continued. “This often led to mistakes such as double scheduling.”
